“Club Officer Training”

For my first blog of the year, I’d like to focus on the importance of Club Officer Training. An effective Club Officer Training session for club leaders is a critical element to creating a successful club.

When club officers are well-trained to perform their duties, club members are better served. This makes the member experience more positive, which leads to a quality club experience and increased member retention. Without properly trained leaders at every level, Districts and Clubs cannot meet members’ needs or introduce the benefits of Toastmasters to others.

Club Officer Training helps to:

  • Encourage planning and growth
  • Apply the concepts of effective leadership
  • Answer questions and stimulate discussion
  • Motivate participants to work together as team members
  • Incorporate the training and educational programs published by Toastmasters International
  • Provide the tools to achieve in the Distinguished Club and Distinguished District programs
  • Give participants a practical understanding of their roles and responsibilities
  • Urge participants to read, review and use handbooks, manuals and other materials to achieve success as an officer

If we want our Club Officers (and more importantly our Clubs) to succeed, it is important to ensure that officers have the knowledge and tools they need. Club Officer Training events provides these in a thoughtful and constructive fashion. Trained Club Officers can result in MORE satisfied members, MORE exciting club meetings, MOREe new members and MORE Distinguished Clubs overall.

If you are a Club Officer and were not able to attend the June Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI), attend one of the five Division Sponsored Make Up TLI sessions being hosted in the months of July and August. The last day for Club Officers to be trained for Round 1 is August 31, 2017. Click here for a list of all dates, times and locations training events scheduled and register for a session today.

NOTE: that there will ONLY be five (5) makeup training events offered in District 30 for Round 1. Club Officers may attend other District training events that are convenient for them in neighboring districts or anywhere around the world. To receive credit for those training, the PQD must email me to confirm your presence.

Please reach out to me for any additional information, I look forward to seeing you at a training session soon!
